Dorchadas

Dorchadas is a mobile RPG game that works completely independent from Visuals.  The game, which is accessible to blind and partially sighted individuals, pins players against Giant Spider, Giant werewolves and sometimes even their own kind whilst also adding in a little bit of mystery.

The game uses audio to guide the player so player can reduce the need to look at a screen, allowing players to use it in bed, on the go or whenever they get a sit down.

Game Context

Set in a world of darkness, the world has plunged into chaos as people search for answers and bandits seek to exploit the confusion for their own gain.  A hero emerges, as most often they do, from the most unlikely of places as 'The Blind Stranger' is no stranger to darkness.  Using their skills to navigate and sometimes even fight without sight, The Blind Stranger is about to make their mark in the world

Lore Writing

One of my favourite parts of this project was the lore writing, whether it's nearby mining villages, the royal crown, the Werewolf City or just individuals like Scales Littlefoot.  Although most of this lore has not been implemented in the prototype, they were kept in mind whilst designing the prototype.

Feel free to ask me literally anything about the world, I will guarentee to have an answer

How it works?

Player will hear a scenario play out audibly before a narrator will provide the player with a list of actions to take in a similar dialogue format to Skyrim.

The game uses different voices for NPCs to help immerse the player.

Programming

All the coding for this game was created from scratch by myself.  The coding as somewhat of a challenge as it is the first time I've coded for a mobile game in some time.  I was however able to successfully implement all the features I wanted for the prototype
